DevOps Teams across 5 ARTs

Our client set out to modernize its digital offering for external asset managers. Within a multi-year program, we delivered both: a new web application for multi-client analysis and order management, and new APIs connecting portfolio management systems directly to the bank, built on the new Swiss data exchange standard “Open Wealth.” First productive release within a year, then five years of continuous build out.

The challenge

Legacy channels, growing limitation

The bank’s digital offering for external asset managers and custody clients had hit its limits: a fat client with functional gaps and a user experience that no longer met client needs, plus inadequate connectivity for larger and mid-sized managers, including no structured intraday reconciliation and no way to submit orders from their own systems.

Our approach

Ship early. Prove with users. Then build out.

We took ownership across business project management, product ownership, business engineering, training, and test management and automation inside the client’s delivery setup, coordinating 30+ DevOps teams and solution architecture across five ARTs toward shared project targets.

For eWealth, the web application, success hinged on strong UX concepts, early testing with a standing pilot client group, and a productive friends-and-family release before scaling the functional scope.

For the API channel, we represented our client in the Open Wealth API working groups with multiple custodians and PMS providers, designed data delivery and interfaces across the system landscape, and integrated self-service API management into eBanking.

The value

Efficient for asset managers. Lighter for the bank.

Functional gaps are closed. Asset managers now analyze their entire book at the bank in one place, capturing and monitoring exchange orders, block orders, account transfers, FX trades, and corporate action instructions in a single web application. Those running their own PMS connect it directly: positions and transactions reconcile automatically, orders reach the bank’s trading desk straight through, execution is monitored end to end, and transaction types are represented correctly. Relationship managers are freed from operational work to focus on clients.

Salesforce for Banking

Launched fast, close to standard, built to scale.

A wealth manager moved from outsourced core banking to its own booking center and needed a new Client Lifecycle Management platform, aligned to Salesforce standard, with no Salesforce-Avaloq integration pattern to build on. We embedded in our client’s team and delivered a fully integrated CLM platform for the first business unit in 9 months and trained the teams to run and evolve it.
Built to fit other jurisdictions from the start, the platform then scaled to further business units.

AI supported KYC Engine

Leaner process, faster turnaround, higher quality.

Onboarding and KYC, including source of wealth verification, have grown more complex across client types and asset classes, as regulators demand more transparency and traceability while client data keeps growing. We help clients redesign their client lifecycle and deliver a solution that integrates with their existing environment, avoiding a rip and replace transformation.
